Siege – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-02-24
1. What data we collect
Siege collects the minimum data needed to provide multiplayer and ranking features:
- Player ID – a random UUID generated on your device and stored in your browser's local storage.
- Player name – a name you choose (or an auto-generated one). Filtered for profanity.
- Game data – moves, scores and outcomes of online multiplayer games you participate in.
- Rating & stats – an Elo-based rating computed from your multiplayer results.
2. How we use the data
- To operate online multiplayer games in real time.
- To display public leaderboards and player statistics.
- To improve the game through aggregated, anonymous usage analytics.
3. Analytics
Siege uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool hosted on our own infrastructure. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across sites. You can disable analytics in the in-game settings.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties. Your player name and rating are visible on the public leaderboard if you play ranked multiplayer games.
5. Data retention
Game data and player profiles are retained on the server indefinitely. Inactive player accounts with no games played may be cleaned up periodically.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Change your player name at any time in Settings.
- Disable analytics at any time in Settings.
- Clear local data by clearing your browser storage or uninstalling the app.
- Contact us to request deletion of your server-side data.
7. Children's privacy
Siege does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The game is rated 4+ and does not require an account or personal information to play.
